Modern Walk-In Shower Transformation

A dated tub-and-shower space gives way to a clean-lined walk-in shower, with black fixtures, a low-threshold entry, and a pale, veined wall finish shown in the completed views.

This Portland–Vancouver project documents a bathroom’s shift from a conventional tub-and-shower arrangement to a modern walk-in shower. The images move from the original room and an early design view through visible preparation and installation, then finish with close and wider views of the completed shower. The result pairs a pale veined-looking wall surface with dark fixtures and glass.

Before

A familiar tub-and-shower layout

The original bathroom view shows a tub with a tiled surround, shower curtain, and existing bath fixtures. A separate design image offers a visual direction for the replacement: a shower enclosure with a long dark horizontal bar and a pale, veined-looking wall surface. These images establish the contrast between the existing setup and the modern shower concept without implying that every drawn detail was built exactly as pictured.

Preparation & process

From open work area to shower installation

The middle photographs document the work in progress from different angles. One shows the former tub area opened up, with framing visible along the sides and at the back; another captures a shower base and surrounding surfaces during an installation or fitting stage, with tools and protective materials still in view. The photos provide a visual sequence, but do not confirm concealed construction, waterproofing methods, or the composition of materials behind the visible surfaces.

Completed details

A crisp finish with dark shower fixtures

The final photographs show the installed shower from close and wider viewpoints. A dark overhead showerhead and handheld sprayer stand out against the light, veined-looking wall finish; dark framing and clear glass define the enclosure. The entry appears low relative to the surrounding bathroom floor. Together, these visible details give the compact bathing area a simpler, more contemporary look while keeping the description grounded in what the images actually show.
